And weekend make-up inspiration courtesy of the heavily coated purple lashes (both top and bottom) seen on the runway at Stella McCartney. Anyone tried this at home? I purchased maybe 3 tubes of electric blue mascara over the years - I loved the colour - but they remained in my make-up drawer, unused, until they reached expiry date. Why did I keep buying tubes of coloured mascara even though I didn't use them? I think perhaps it was that I loved the idea of coloured lashes but it just didn't work in real life. But maybe purple would work better than blue.....

It is wedding season in the Northern Hemisphere and with that comes the mild  full-blown panic over what to wear...and particularly in the UK, what to wear on your head! Love Aline's off-duty style and the clever way that she makes pieces from her wardrobe work when she is travelling. For example, this velvet jacket she took from super casual (i.e. teaming  with cut-off jean shorts) to the more sophisticated look in the photograph above. It isn't easy to pack for a long trip away so pieces that can go easily, effortlessly from day into night (and which don't take up much space in your suitcase) are essential.
